How can I complain about a product?
In Germany, consumer goods carry a 24-month warranty period. Please return the product to us at your expense with the respective receipt. We shall not accept deliveries if the carriage has not been paid. The statutory warranty period does not apply to all consumer goods, e.g. light bulbs. However, we may replace light bulbs on a good-will basis if there is proof that they only operated for a few days.
Is DuplaRit better than DuplaRoot?
Dupla is the ideal nutrient solution for all aquarium plants thanks to the development of a harmonised fertiliser system. The Dupla system originally consisted of three components: DuplaPlant, DuplaPlant 24 and DuplaRit. Due to problems with the procurement of the natural laterite used in DuplaRit from Sri Lanka, DuplaRit was replaced by the synthetic product DuplaRoot at the end of the 1990s. After Dohse Aquaristik acquired Dupla as a trademark, DuplaRit was reintroduced due to the great demand. Therefore, the end customer now has the choice between the recommendable, natural DuplaRit and the synthetic alternative product DuplaRoot.
Does Dupla exist any more as a firm?
Dupla Aquaristik GmbH with seat in Bielefeld no longer exists. In October 2003, the brand rights of the Dupla company were acquired by Dohse Aquaristik KG in Grafschaft, Germany. The DUPLA brand will now be continued and further developed by Dohse Aquaristik as an independent product assortment alongside the now over 50-year old HOBBY aquarium brand. The goal against which all activities will be measured in future will continue to be the optimisation of the fishes’ living conditions and the ease and safety of use for the aquarium enthusiast.
Who is Dohse Aquaristik KG?
Dohse Aquaristik is a pioneering company in the aquarium supplies branch. The story began with a retail store which quickly became known beyond the Bonn city limits. And as early as the mid-fifties, Dohse Aquaristik started developing into a provider of solutions for aquarium related problems. Today, the highly export-orientated family business is managed by the third generation. The product groups for aquariums, terrariums and garden ponds are all successfully marketed under the HOBBY brand name.
What has changed for the consumer?
Dupla products are still sold in the same quality, with the same recipes and/or the same technology and in the same packaging design. The large circle of specialist dealers make the product assortment available to Dohse Aquaristik KG’s even larger group of established clientele. The product development is rigorously pursued and is based on the company philosophy. A new catalogue was published in mid-2004 and the homepage was given a complete makeover at the end of 2004.
Are any of my guarantee claims invalidated by the company takeover?
Dohse Aquaristik KG is not the legal successor to Dupla Aquaristik GmbH and cannot be held liable for any claims, damages or defects regarding or caused by products sold previously. As a good-will gesture, however, any Dupla products still within the 24-month warranty period will still be repaired or, if necessary, replaced. Who pays for the return postage?
If the purchase price of the product specified on the receipt is € 40 or more, we shall reimburse the return postage when replacing the product. If the purchase price is less than € 40, you must return the product to us at your expense.
